I can’t stand virtue signaling, can’t stand it. At a recent event the clown running it started with a land acknowledgment to the Nipmuc Indians who existed on the land before the colonists.
A fellow in the audience sitting next to me, a first generation African Gentlmen leaned into me and asked “Why don’t these people ever mention that the tribes colonized each other?”
So I asked the presenter (at question time) if he knew who the Nipmuc’s displaced? He looked at me blankly. The Paleo-Indians were Nomadic and arrived shortly after the Ice Age. They arrived roughly 12,000 years ago. Since the oldest known Homo Sapien was found in Morocco and dated back 315,000 years ago we can also be pretty certain the Paleo-Indians weren’t here first, so we need to go back even further.
I also asked him if understood that these tribes were anything but peaceful, dispatching justice to enemies in a barbaric nature.
My point is simple; colonization happens. It’s happening now all over the world, mostly in a peaceful immigrating manner, but there are still regions in the world where deadly battles decide where the tribal lines are drawn.
The idea that we have to start a meeting by acknowledging this is moronic, and the motive is wrong in nature because it’s very design is to show what a good person you are.
Stop the virtue signaling. Just be nice to people.
