Black Friday Cyber Monday Extended

It’s out of hand.

It used to be Black Friday was a horrid event where you would bundle up after a heavy Thanksgiving meal, then head out with your least favorite Uncle and Cousin (two different people– what am I from Kentucky?) and you’d get in line at some Department Store at 4am so you could make a mad rush to the Toy Department and leap over old ladies so you could get that years hot item that your kids had to have– you’d break into teams if there was ALSO a Flat Screen 48″ TV (considered giant at the time) and if you were lucky you made it back home in one piece where your wife would mend your torn clothes and you’d have leftover Turkey for breakfast.

Now?

About the Monday BEFORE Thanksgiving Black Friday sales events start happening. I saw a great post on IG where I’m usually only watching Dog Videos which showed “Black Friday Sales Be Like…” and showed that the prices on Black Friday Sales are usually the regular sale prices.

That’s not to say there aren’t some good sales, Condition 1 the premiere maker of gun traveling cases takes a legitimate 30% off during this only sales time of the year.

But overall, the Black Friday sales, which turn into the Cyber Monday Sales and then the “extended Black Friday sales” run well into the second week of December– and of course the juggernaut that is Amazon does “Prime Days” that pretty much tops all other sales and pretty soon your bank account is zero and you’re back standing in front of a Department Store only this time with a cardboard sign that says “Black Friday Deal on Windshield Washing”.

It’s just not the same.
