Blackmail Idiots

Nothing bothers me more than bullies, someone who goes after a weaker target– and it makes me very angry. Online blackmail is becoming a serious thing– especially among young people who are sometimes fooled into thinking they are talking to a peer where they exchange personal information and images only to learn they’ve been taken.

Recently I got a rather generic attempt to blackmail me– and smug nature of it makes me want to reach through the screen and strangle the life out of this piece of garbage likely living in some hovel in Eastern Europe.

The email goes something like this (and I wish I had saved a screen shot before I deleted it after reporting it to a friend who handles such a thing- and if you’ve got a similar issue I’d suggest with going with someone like these guys who take the fight to the streets);

“Hello- let’s get straight to the point. We’ve known each other for a long time, or at least I know you and I’ve implanted a virus which allows me to see your incredibly surprising website browsing and the things you’re into. Unless you want this shared to your entire contact list you will pay me $2000EU by such and such a date and blah blah blah…”

My good friends at the FBI have told me not to engage with such a person, although it takes every bit of control I have not to insult their mother and remind them that this horrific method of extortion virtually guarantees an eternal life of damnation and I hope it’s worth it in their attempt to leave said horrific hovel.

The thing is– in my case it’s laugh out loud funny. If you have access to my browsing you’re going to see a lot of time spent looking at Old Comic Books, vintage Batman toys, classic monster news and an inordinate amount of Yorkie videos. I spend my time wisely on the internet. The only thing my camera is ever going to catch me doing is falling asleep in my incredibly comfortable office chair around 315 everyday when the sun is beating in on my studio.

I’d laugh after I crushed this piece of human waste’s throat if I hadn’t read a story recently about a high school aged boy who was driven to suicide because he got such a blackmail threat. It’s not funny.

Here’s my Dad advice, AI is getting so incredibly advanced that any questionable images of you could easily be AI generated, so don’t give in to these fools, report them to the US Government or your local police if there is a serious threat, but don’t give in to these idiots.

It’s not worth it.
