CHICK FIL A

Chick FIL A may be extremely popular especially among young men and cows but I’ll be honest, it’s lost on me– at least as far as the Grilled Chicken goes. I don’t tend to order Fried Food at most fast food places– since losing my Gallbladder in the great stomach explosion of ’14 fried foods and I are nowhere near as close as we once were.

Don’t get me wrong, once a year I look forward to getting an order of Fried Whole Belly Clams at just about the end of Spring and that holds me over for a full year– I especially like to get them if I’m anywhere near Ipswich MA which is the birthplace of the little buggers.

My sons LOVE Chick Fil A– so it was with heavy heart that I gave them a mediocre rating when I had it– and full disclosure a good friend owns the first one dropped in the Woo– I still pay for my food, but I like to keep things honest.

Decrying my choice of Grilled Chicken they demanded that I go back and order the required SPICY CHICKEN Sandwich served on a toasted bun with pickles, waffle fries and a fountain drink.

Veronica and I decided to give it another shot as a date night– which was fun– the place was full of teenagers and we both ordered the Spicy Chicken meals. The staff was especially friendly which is worth noting. They took our order, asked our name and told us to grab a seat and they’d bring it out to us.

About 10 minutes later our order was served up– and I’ll give you that this sandwich was much better than the grilled chicken which I found slimy. It’s my fault that I spread the Chick Fil A sauce on the sandwich without trying it (what was i thinking?) and I didn’t care for the sauce but the sandwich was very good– it could have used a few more pickles and I might push my luck and see if I can get extra next time.

The fries are waffle fries– personally not a favorite of mine but they were good. I gave the whole meal a solid 7.5-8.0 Veronica gave it a 9.0. I’m not entirely sure why Chicken places are so popular– the police often have to dispatch traffic patrol for Popeye’s ™ on Park Avenue which I have also never tried.

Next up; a Chicken competitor comes to town, and every tells me I should try it.
