Amazing donut at Coronado– it’s as good as it looks.
Monday we basically hung around, a lot of time in Hammocks and the Resort Pool, Tuesday the kids wanted to do something for Veronica to say thank you for all she did to arrange this trip– so we opted to resort hop starting at Noon, we took in several resorts including another trip to Trader Sam’s while we stopped for hot donuts at the French Quarter– those are not the one pictured above, they are more like hot fried dough shaped like Mickey with powdered sugar on them, we all agreed they were out of this world. Might be worth a flight to Florida just for these.
We ended with reservations at Veronica’s favorite restaurant at Animal Kingdom and ended a super fun day. The kids would be flying back the next morning early while we’d be heading back on Thursday.
Wednesday we hit Discovery Cove which is a really fun water park with sea life you can scuba with in a controlled environment– I had a lot of fun and we enjoyed the sun while getting back to the resort where we had dinner at the restaurant on the top of our resort which is a Michelin Star place. The food was terrific but our reservations were fairly late and we had a 630am flight which meant we had to be up at four, Lyft at 5 and through security by 6– thankfully TSA Precheck was in full swing and we glided through while the regular security line was extremely backed up.
We got into our seats at JetBlue– I had opted to upgrade to First Class but I’ll be honest the seats were no more comfortable and the service was no different. I’d say our seats back in exit row 10 on the flight down were MUCH better, so JetBlue has a ways to go to understand what First Class is supposed to be. I won’t make that mistake again. I said it in post one but I’ll say it again, the airline is very budget oriented and I don’t enjoy flying with them, but they are the only game in town that flies from WOO (ORH) to Florida.
We arrived at the airport with no trouble, I headed out to the parking lot while Veronica waited for the bags, unfortunately that blizzard we missed didn’t miss the parking lot. I had to dig out our car with a snow scraper but we were soon home.
Speaking of home, while we were gone our house was completley shoveled out by a snow angel, we have such terrific neighbors.
