With a little help from my Friends…

“Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends — Mm, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends…”

I know I’m in the minority but I’m not a giant fan of the Beatles, I respect what they brought to music, but with the lyrics above I’d prefer to think of Joe Cocker or Mumford and Sons.

I find Spring a reflective time; we’ve gone from a sea of brown sticks to lush thick greenery. It’s still a week or so until I have to start mowing the lawn, but in the warm afternoon sun I often take my coffee break outside in the very comfortable Adirondack chairs I have sitting atop a high hill which lets me look out over my Universe.

As we move from April to May the early evenings are warm enough and still bug free so it was I found myself sitting with a cup of Joe as the sun was setting. I used to sit out there with my dog (RIP Austin) as my wife was up at rehearsal for the church band.

Over the past few weeks I’ve addressed some graduating classes and I get a lot of questions from nervous new grads about what they can do to help them with success. I’m also asked if I’d consider doing new online classes and I’m looking at the possibilities of making that work- I enjoyed those days.

The comic industry is a multi billion dollar industry and in our world there are some legends, I’ve been lucky enough to get to know many of them and have even had some help from giants. Over the coming weeks I’ll be reviewing some of those encounters I’ve had.
