Tea Vs Coffee – The Final Battle

In Japan I do drink tea, so does everyone else. You want to know a big secret? They have better Tea than we do. In Japan I can buy Grape Tea and it’s AMAZING. They used to sell Grape Tea here in the states but the company discontinued it and now it sells for $700 a pack on Amazon.

I did finally find a tea here in the States that I like, Harney and Sons Cinnamon Spice Tea is quite good.

At the end of the day, however Coffee > Tea. End of story. It’s American. American’s throw Tea into Boston harbor.

You know what else? I realized this when I was making my cuppa Harney and Sons– Tea screams at you like an angry old lady when it’s ready. That squealing tea pot which always springs to life when you’re just far enough away from it that it’s annoying– I scrambled back downstairs and raced over to the stove yelling “Okay I heard you!” — wanted to hurl something at that tea pot.

When coffee is ready you know what sound it makes? It makes a comforting “hush”– to let you know that rich, roasted, slightly nutty beverage is hot and ready for you to enjoy.

Somehow I missed this. You know, you could get an electric kettle that boils the water and when it reaches the optimum temperature, it shuts itself off. No screaming like a Ban Sidhe.

I certainly could, CJ, but then I wouldn’t be able to complain about the tea kettle.
