Some Catching Up

Hello Friends- it’s been a while, I may have to resume the simple photo posts to push through this latest deadline but I thought I’d do some catching up over the May-June break I took;

Our new dog Juno has been a great dog, fully house broken, she is calm and cool unless we have insane weather– on May 19th I took Veronica to the airport to go visit some family (brought Juno) and came home and basically did what I always do when she has to travel– I sit and wonder how the house got to be a mess in the hour I’ve been home, why it doesn’t smell like the way it smells when Veronica is here and how many days until she’s coming back. I worked downstairs and as the afternoon rolled in the insanely hot and humid weather (it was like 96) suddenly was replaced by black skies– so black it made everything look like night.

Then the storm hit– rain falling sideways, flooding water pouring down the street, and thunder that struck at the same time as the huge flash of lightning– I texted Veronica that Juno seemed pretty chill about storms, but I spoke too soon.

The Worcester Animal Rescue League, where we got her, had told us she didn’t bark as much as scream– we looked at them with some bemusement, what did that mean?

It means when the storm is at it’s most fierce Juno lets out a bone chilling scream that sounds like someone is murdering a child– now I myself love thunderstorms, the bigger the better, but it took me 20 minutes to get her to calm down- eventually she stopped when I built her a pillow fort on the couch and she was able to take refuge.

CIRCUS PEANUTS – a few of you don’t share my love of circus peanuts– CJ Kennedy even suggest I just get a box of crayons and eat those. Not the same delicious banana styrofoam combination of magic, CJ. I don’t blame her at all, she loves hot humid weather so I assume that has frazzled her brain a bit, but I get her point too.
