CONTACT FROM LINKEDIN…

In BETTER CALL SAUL - one of the greatest shows ever done— Saul used to go to his very pathetic office in the boiler room of a nail salon and as he struggled to get behind his desk he would turn to his answering machine, wave his fingers in a magic way and hope and pray for that good client to have reached out to him overnight. It’s an impactful scene for me because I remember those days quite well. There was a streak I was on where at least once a week a great offer would come in, sometimes exactly as needed as I swung Tarzan-like from one assignment to the next.

Is this what we’re back to?

It’s been so long that I haven’t been swamped with work that I’m beginning to feel that as I log in to my mail. This morning a potential positive one from a comic publisher who reached out through LINKEDIN of all places. I used to get the majority of my work through FREELNCED.com which has since gone belly up. Over the years it easily produced over a million dollars in contracts for me so I never got why anyone complained about it.

I followed up the LINKEDIN email with a request for some details so we’ll see what that offers.

Meanwhile, that company I reached out to is indeed the company I thought it was and they do work with Freelancers so we’re in the early stages of talking about what I might be able to provide.
