GODZILLA FILMS

I recently had the pleasure of laying on the couch and just watching TV. I chose a Godzilla Marathon on YouTube and it was fun– they showed in order;

GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS, MOTHRA VS GODZILLA, MONSTER ZERO, EBIRAH HORROR FROM THE DEEP, WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS, GODZILLA’S REVENGE, and MECHAGODZILLA and TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA.

I’ve come to realize that like James Bond, Batman, Man From UNCLE that Godzilla works best as a product of the 60s. After about 1985 they started to take him too seriously and although the suits and the effects are better, waaaay too many scenes of actors dressed in scientist or military gear sitting around a table planning, or focusing on the Ultraman like fighter teams designed to bring the Big-G down, in other words the films became too serious and lost a lot of the fun.

Give me the classic Godzilla’s anyday with the wacky aliens and crazy monsters.
